<div class="section1"><div class="Normal">HYDERABAD: Justice A Gopal Reddy of the AP High Court on Thursday dismissed a batch of writ petitions in which the power of the government to levy fee on liquor licences was challenged.<br />The judge was dealing with a batch of writ petitions in which the petitioners unsuccessfully contended that unless the population figures were finally published the authorities cannot interfere in the enhancement of licence fee and the licences have to be renewed basing upon the population figures of 1981 census.<br />The argument of the government that fixation of licence fee was a matter of policy that was beyond judicial review also found favour with the court.<br /><span style="" font-weight:="" bold="">Pratyusha case </span>A division bench of the AP High Court comprising Justice Motilal B Naik and Justice Rohini on Thursday took on file the final report of the CBI in the Pratyusha case.<br />As reported earlier the bench had taken up two cases complaining of various irregularities in the manner of investigation into the circumstances leading to the death of the film star.
